Role Overview:
As a Special Education Teacher, you will be responsible for creating and implementing tailored instructional strategies that address each student’s unique needs. You will develop comprehensive Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), continuously assess student progress, and work collaboratively with families and staff to provide robust support.
Primary Duties:
Customized Lesson Planning: Develop lessons designed to meet the individual goals outlined in each student’s IEP.
IEP Management: Construct, implement, and routinely update IEPs to ensure compliance with district and state standards.
Flexible Instruction: Apply a variety of teaching methods to cater to diverse learning styles.
Regular Assessments: Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies to maximize outcomes.
Effective Classroom Environment: Create a positive, structured learning atmosphere that promotes student engagement and success.
Collaborative Efforts: Partner with parents, educators, and support teams to ensure a comprehensive approach to student development.
Candidate Requirements:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education (or related field).
Must possess a valid Indiana Special Education teaching certification.
Prior experience with special needs students is preferred; however, new graduates with certification are encouraged.
Demonstrated proficiency in IEP development, differentiated instruction, and classroom management.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
